The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton. First opened in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals.

A short seasonal movie at the theater following the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on the downtown plaza.

Tree lighting:  Lumberton Downtown Plaza, Friday, December 6, 2019 at 6:30pm

This event is free and open to the public.

Entertainment provided by SHECANIAH MUSIC

Free hay rides, hot cocoa and cookies during the lighting of the tree.  Christmas Short Film will be shown in the Carolina Civic Center at approximately 7:30pm.  Continue the excitement at the Robeson County Public Library for crafts and story time and Southeastern Hospice Festival of Trees from 7:00 – 9:00pm. Enjoy beautifully decorated trees, and purchase some freshly baked cakes and cookies. This year’s event will include local vendors with an array of items to purchase.
