Auditions will be held February 8, 9, and 10 at the Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater in downtown Lumberton for two separate upcoming productions.
- My Time To Shine Talent Competition February 8 (6:00 & 7:30) and 9 (11:00am)
The theater’s popular and competitive annual talent competition includes all categories of talent including singing, dancing, instrumentals and more. Top contestants will receive cash and gift prizes with a grand prize of $1,000. Go to the theater’s website at www.carolinaciviccenter.com to download an application, or stop by the administration office Monday-Friday (12-5:30pm) at 315 North Chestnut Street Lumberton. All applications and a NON-refundable $20.00 registration fee (checks may be made out to Carolina Civic Center) must be submitted to CCC to the attention of Jonathan Brewington, Stage Manager, at 315 N. Chestnut Street Lumberton, NC 28358 by February 5th, 2019 by the 5:30PM deadline at which time contestants can select their audition time. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. - Annie the Musical February 10 (3pm)
Audition sfor both youth and adult roles. The Carolina Civic Center celebrates one of the longest-running shows in Broadway history –Annie! Annie shines her light on everyone she meets—from her fellow orphans to gruff millionaire Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks. This classic story of a young girl filled with optimism, overcoming adversity, features a beloved score of hits. Show production dates are June 13-16.
Performers auditioning for the role of Annie should come prepared to sing “Tomorrow” while those auditioning for one of the six orphan roles should come prepared to sing “It’s a Hard Knock Life.” All other desired roles should come prepared to sing a musical theater song that’s displays your range and vocal ability.
