The Carolina Ballroom
The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater officially opened its new annex expansion in November, 2025, just in time for its annual Robeson County Christmas Show.
The new space includes the Carolina Ballroom and Carolina Foyer and will be available for rental events such as weddings, corporate special events, and regional meetings and conferences. It also will allow the theater to continue its success drawing people to downtown through expanded programming offerings to include pre- and post-show receptions, dinner theater and other special events.
The Carolina Ballroom has a capacity in its event space of 300 people seated at tables, while the Foyer will hold an additional 85 people at tables (both amounts increase for standing or chairs only). The annex also features concession, bar and ticketing areas, a bridal suite and changing room, catering warming kitchen and additional bathrooms and storage areas.
An expansive fenced courtyard and alleyway adds another 1,200-square-feet of landscaped seating area.
With its existing 450-seat theater and dressing rooms and offices, the entire Carolina Civic Center and Historic Theater’s facility size will now be more than 30,000 square feet.
