The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton. First opened in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals.

Legendary Ladies of Soul has rescheduled from 7pm Saturday March 28 to 7pm Saturday August 22.

Join us, as Diane McIntosh takes you on a musical journey with her tribute to “The Legendary Ladies of Soul.” She and her band will travel from Atlanta to perform a collection of signature songs associated with the great female icons of Soul, Jazz, Pop, Motown and more.  

This is a special rental event and not part of the theater’s Mainstage Series. Tickets can only be purchased on-line through the performer and that link is below.

 Diane is a Detroit native who was highly inspired by the Motown sound as well as many other artists whose work has left a profound impact on musical history.  Her musical talents went on to garner a Grammy nomination alongside Gladys Knight. 

 The evening will will pay homage to many of the trailblazing female artists and their chart-topping songs, including songs by Aretha Franklin, Dionne Warwick, Whitney Houston, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Natalie Cole and many others.
