The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton. First opened in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals.

7th Annual My Time To Shine – Talent Competition

Our 7th Annual, hugely popular –and very competitive- talent competition. Includes all categories of talent from singing and dancing to juggling. Auditions will be held to determine who gets to showcase on our stage, with cash prizes going to the top contestants. But it’s more than a competition, it’s a great show!

Chestnut Street Lumberton, NC  28358) by February 10th, 2020 at 6:00PM. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

The auditions will take place at the Carolina Civic Center. Auditions are mandatory! No one will be allowed to compete without first auditioning. You will be notified if you are selected to compete in the live contest March 21st.


The Wizard of Oz

Audition date:  2:30pm-Feb. 16th 2020

Auditions will be conducted February 16 for adult and youth roles for the Carolina Civic Center’s June production of Wizard of Oz. Entertaining audiences for generations, this beloved tale follows a distraught Dorothy Gale as she is swept away on an adventure over the rainbow. Dorothy begins a journey down the Yellow Brick Road to get back home. With a new group of friends, ruby slippers, and her brains, heart, and courage in tow, not even a Wicked Witch can keep her from discovering the magical power of home.

Production Dates are June 11-14

Performers auditioning for the role of Dorothy should come prepared to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” All other desired roles including principals and ensemble should come prepared to sing a song from the show. Everyone should come prepared to sing a song that displays their range and vocal ability.

You may be asked to attend a callback scheduled for February 21st, at 6:30.
