The Carolina Civic Center Historic Theater is a beautifully-restored treasure listed on the National Register of Historic Places that offers visitors a unique and visually stunning experience. The theater is located at 315 North Chestnut Street in the heart of downtown Lumberton. First opened in 1928 as a vaudeville and silent film house, the theater offers a wide array of programming including live touring performances, original productions, art exhibits, films, special events and rentals.

Our 2016-17 Mainstage season has been one of our most successful yet, with many sold-out shows (including all seven of our “A Robeson County Christmas” performances), and we plan to make the 2017-18 season even better.  Here is the basic scheduling with ticketing info, follow the links for more show info and video:

Sept. 23: Old school party style with “A Temptations Revue” featuring Barrington “Bo” Henderson.  SOLD OUT!

Oct. 6:  Old school country-cowboy style with Riders in the Sky Salute Roy Rogers, King of the Cowboys.

Oct. 26:  Organist Mark Andersen and Friends return to mark Halloween with a “Phantom of the Opera” special performance of silent film and singing.

Dec. 7-10:  The region’s newest holiday tradition, our own A Robeson County Christmas Show.

Feb. 10: International Bluegrass Music Association two-time best performer winners Balsam Range.

March 9: Traditional and contemporary Celtic music with The Young Irelanders.

March 24: Our annual high-energy My Time to Shine Talent Competition.

April 27: Down home laughs and big city music with “3 Redneck Tenors.”

June 8-10 and 15-16: The season winds up on a fantastical note with another original production, the always popular Stephen Sondheim musical “Into the Woods,” directed by resident artist Kendrix Singletary.

Ticketing Information
Tickets for the Mainstage Series can be purchased on-line by going to our web site at www.carolinaciviccenter.com.  Tickets also can be purchased in-person or by  telephone with credit card or cash noon-6pm Monday through Friday through our administrative offices in the theater’s second floor (enter on Fourth Street side), or by calling the Civic Center at (910) 738-4339. Tickets can also be purchased at the door. Theater lobby box office opens for ticket sales one hour prior to performance.

Mainstage Series tickets are $25. Starting this season for our Mainstage Series, we now have package discounts when you purchase four, five or six shows at the same time. The more you buy the more you save! We also have a senior and military discount of $22 for each mainstage show, while tickets for members of Southeastern Regional Medical Center’s PrivilegesPlus program are only $20 per show. Students are $10.  For details about joining PrivilegesPlus please visit its web page at  www.srmc.org/pplus .  Group rate is $17 per ticket with advance purchase of ten or more at same time, and are available by contacting the box office. All ticket prices now include 7% sales tax on nonprofit attraction ticket sales as required by the North Carolina General Assembly as of January 1, 2013.
